HOW TO HELP - Bequests

Having your affairs in order can give you peace of mind. One way to do that is to have an up-to-date will.

Your will is the basic instrument to transfer your assets at death. Including a gift to the FVGLA in your will can recognize the value of our work, offset taxes for you and your heirs, and have a profound impact in your community without affecting your current lifestyle.

When you write or add a codicil to your will, consider donating a percentage to the FVGLA. The suggested bequest language for your attorney to include is:

"I give, devise and bequeath ___% (percentage) of my estate, or $___ (sum of money), or, ___ (named property), or all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to the Farmington Green and Library Association (FVGLA), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, located in Farmington, Connecticut, USA."

All estate gifts are put into the endowment fund, which is permanently restricted and thus benefits the FVGLA in perpetuity.

Whether your passion is supporting programs or operations for Stanley-Whitman House, enhancing events or the collections for the Barney or Farmington Libraries, or retaining the history of the past through gravestone reconstruction at Memento Mori Cemetery, your bequest can help fulfill our mission.

Bequests are fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes.

Please let us know if you have included the FVGLA in your estate plans. We would be honored to recognize your commitment.
