Engineer Bridges Personal Plans with Effective Way to Support Favorite Causes
Michael and Phi Andreas moved to Farmington in 1976. He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University). In connection with his service in the U.S Navy and employment by General Motors, they lived in several areas across the United States, his last assignment being at the Delco Moraine Division plant in Bristol, Conn. Influencing the Future with Lessons from the Past
When Evan Cowles and his wife, Brie Quinby, moved to Farmington in 1986 they knew a bit about his family’s long and influential history in the area. Evan had heard stories about his great grandfather, William Sheffield Cowles, an admiral in the United States Navy who married, as his second wife, Anna Roosevelt, the elder sister of U.S. president Teddy Roosevelt. Seeding Their Community for the Future
“I fell in love with the museum,” says Dianne Antos about Stanley-Whitman House. “I love to garden and when a local master gardener was doing her certification there, I pitched in. It was a labor of love and 100 percent authentic to the period with herbals and medicinals.” Read more.
